What is the most important thing you do in your job?
When an individual is charged with a crime, it can be a scary and intimidating process, which impacts their entire family. In most cases, a client is facing a significant loss of liberty and other life-changing consequences. It is my job to help the client navigate the process so that they can make the most informed decisions and ensure the most favorable outcome.
What is one aspect of your profession you would like to change?
With the increased use of electronic discovery in criminal law, I would encourage the expansion of access to technology for defendants who are incarcerated. This would allow for a more streamlined process and enable defendants to more thoroughly participate in the defense of their case.
If you weren’t in this industry, what would you be doing?
I attended bartending school during spring break of my senior year of college. Having graduated as the valedictorian, had I not chosen to attend law school, I would most likely be working behind the bar instead of being a member of the bar.
