As president and managing partner of the Largo law firm of Shipley & Home P.A., Arthur J. Horne, Jr. represents clients in the areas of business, civil, corporate, estate, real estate, government and land use.
His clients range from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, as well as nonprofit corporations and individuals.
Horne also has served as general counsel for the Prince George’s County’s Housing Authority, its Revenue Authority and as court auditor for the Circuit Court of Prince George’s County.
He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Alabama and his law degree at Georgetown University.
He explained that his faith has helped him become the leader and person he is which impacts the legacy he wants to leave behind.
“I want to be recognized as a humble servant of God, a man who placed his faith and love of others above all else; as a principled family man who loved his family and gave them his all; as an honest businessman, whose zealous legal representation and reputation for integrity made his services sought after by all demographics; an active community participant who actively engaged with legal and community nonprofit associations like bar associations, the United Way and NAACP; and a respected role model, who uplifted youth via mentoring, service on high school boards, boys and girls clubs, and partnerships in education with elementary schools, allowing youth, especially African American boys, to see someone like them, inspiring them to know that they, too, can excel.”
Horne says that being recognized as an Icon, “Is a great honor which I humbly accept in dedication to and as a symbol reflecting the guidance of all the family and friends in my life who have molded me over 60 years into the person I am today.”
