“I’m very proud of not only our properties but also our wide range of investor partners including major pension funds, family offices, private equity firms, and other institutional investors.”
– Kenneth Bacon

Kenneth Bacon has been a recipient of a prestigious scholarship, earned a master’s degree in international relations from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Harvard Business School and landed a job on Wall Street.

He loved the exciting pace and healthy income, but he longed to be part of something bigger. After three years, he left his Wall Street career and joined Fannie Mae, the largest supplier of low-income tax credits and biggest supplier of affordable mortgage financing in the U.S., where he went on to become executive vice president and head of its multifamily business.

During his 19 years at Fannie Mae, he oversaw a portfolio of $195 million in assets, consisting of multifamily mortgages, conventional equity, low-income housing tax credits and mezzanine debt.

Earlier in his tenure, he managed the American Communities Fund and affordable lending and community development initiatives of Fannie Mae.

In 2013, Bacon co-founded RailField with another Fannie Mae multifamily executive. The investment and asset management firm invests in high-quality multifamily assets with the goal of generating above-market returns to investors and creating a sense of community.

They draw from their extensive experience to identify opportunities by analyzing factors such as high growth and stable markets with favorable multifamily, demographic, and economic trends. “I’m very proud of not only our properties but also our wide range of investor partners including major pension funds, family offices, private equity firms, and other institutional investors,” he explained on his LinkedIn profile. Managing the firm has allowed Bacon to embrace being an entrepreneur.
