With more than 25 years of government relations experience, Lorenzo Bellamy brings a wealth of knowledge to his clients at the Bellamy Genn Group.
For nearly eight years, he was the owner of The Bellamy Law Firm, focusing on international trade development and transactions. Bellamy then worked for two years as the legislative director for the Office of the Public Defender Maryland. He spent more than a decade as the director/legislative counsel for Alexander & Cleaver, PA before starting the Bellamy Genn Group in 2017.
Fluent in French, his work has often taken him overseas including living in Africa and Europe. A career highlight included being retained by Madagascar’s president as an adviser on World Bank policies, African Growth and Opportunity Act best practices and working with the National Institutes of Health on policy.
Bellamy earned his Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from the University of Virginia.
He is active in the community having given his time to many boards, including Christian Legal Aid, the Washington and Maryland Government Relations Association.
