As a partner at KO Public Affairs for more than seven years, Rick Abbruzzese advocates for the interests of nonprofit, corporate, energy, health care and technology clients based in Maryland and Delaware.
One of his most notable positions was serving as the director of public affairs for the state of Maryland from 2010 to 2012 as well as communications director for the Office of the Governor from 2007 to 2010, both positions during the Gov. Martin O’Malley administration.
A graduate of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Abbruzzese has previously worked as a partner at Rifkin Weiner Livingston LLC and vice president of global public affairs and marketing with the Walton Group of Companies.

We establish strong partnerships with our clients while appreciating the many complicated issues state and local officials are managing at any given time.
What is the most difficult lesson you have learned?
Common sense does not always prevail.
What is the biggest challenge facing government leaders in Maryland?
Working to address critical policy issues with limited resources — and there are many.
