A graduate of Notre Dame of Maryland University who earned her law degree at the University of Maryland School of Law, Jennifer Alexander began her career as a trial lawyer in the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office.
As a prosecutor, she was on the Violent Crimes Trial Team and regularly prosecuted high-profile violent crimes.
Since May 2019, Alexander has worked as a principal attorney with the Greenbelt-based McNamee Hosea, LLP, a full-service business law firm.
With McNamee Hosea, she has handled criminal defense, business disputes and litigation and personal injury defense cases.
“I will always be the most prepared attorney in the courtroom and my clients will always know what is happening in their case,” Alexander writes in her profile on her law firm’s web page. “Honest communication, creative strategizing and client advocacy are critical in my representation style.”
Alexander also regularly trains police officers in agencies across the state on criminal law topics and trial practice techniques for the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, Maryland State Highway Administration and University of Maryland DUI College.
Alexander is a member of the Maryland State, District of Columbia and Anne Arundel County bar associations as well as the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys Association.
“As a circuit court judge in Prince George’s County, and a previous recipient of a Leadership in Law Award, I am aware of the many leaders in our state and within the bar association,” Circuit Court Judge Tiffany Anderson, wrote in Alexander’s nominaton. “Jennifer Alexander is one of them.”
Alexander is a hard-working, experienced and conscientious trial attorney and manages all of her cases with “integrity and dedication,” Anderson wrote.
The judge also cited Alexander’s community involvement, noting that she teaches courses to aw enforcement agencies around the state and volunteers as a pet therapy dog handler in courts with her rescue dog, Mac.
