What is your most significant accomplishment?
Most significantly, I once saved a joint defendant’s life. Because of the lawsuit that we were both involved in, the joint defendant was mentally pushed to his breaking point and in crisis. Through a series of contacts that I made over the course of the case, which included a member of the secret service, I was able to speak with the appropriate authorities and they were able to locate the joint defendant and provide him urgent medical care. The case continued and, eventually, it ended favorably for both my client and the joint defendant.
The joint defendant and I have remained friends through the years. He put the lawsuit behind him and dedicated his life to serving the poor and under-represented in his community. Today, he is a remarkable individual who gives so much of himself to others. So, when I am asked what my most significant accomplishment is I always say it was when I was able to call the joint defendant’s mother to let her know that the joint defendant was found, was alive, was receiving medical care, and was going to be okay.
