What is your most significant accomplishment?
My most significant accomplishment to date is becoming the chair of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Maryland and being able to improve care for women of west Baltimore and across the state of Maryland.
How have you mentored others?
I have mentored more than 40 undergraduate, graduate and medical students, medical residents and fellows, post-doctoral fellows and junior faculty. I have mentored folks at my own institution as well as across United States and abroad. I am most proud of one of my mentees who was once one of my medical resident mentees, and who is now a successful maternal fetal medicine physician who is serving at another institution as a vice chair for diversity, equity and inclusion for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
