Janet Currie

President, Bank of America Greater Maryland
Bank of America

What is your most significant professional accomplishment?

Becoming the first Black woman to be president of Bank of America in Maryland.

What is your most significant personal accomplishment?

My family is such an integral part of my life, so excluding them from personal accomplishments is hard. I would have to say that having several 30-year-old, meaningful friendships is important to me and something I consider significant.

What role has mentoring played in your professional life?

I am the co-chair of the Greater Baltimore Committee’s Baltimore Women’s Advisory Board. The Baltimore Women’s Advisory Board (BWAB) mission is to support, advance and retain women in the Baltimore market and ensure Baltimore emerges as a role model for equality in the workplace. BWAB is a GBC Committee that is made up of a member board and The Collective.

The Collective are GBC member business leaders (women and men) who are not currently serving on the BWAB board. This strong network of thought leaders will help support the Board’s initiative of advancing and retaining women in the Baltimore market and ensuring Baltimore emerges as a role model for equality in the workplace.
