The annual Hats & Horses fundraising event drew more than 250 people to The Assembly Room on May 4 to raise funds for a mental health program at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
Chaired by the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) at Kennedy Krieger, the annual event is always a can’t-miss night of fashion and fundraising. This year, the evening’s efforts pulled in more than $340,000 to help fund a new post-master’s fellowship program for psychiatric social workers.
Now in development, the fellowship will provide training to the next generation of qualified mental health clinicians and increase access to mental health care for children and teenagers.
This year, WIN members decided to focus much of their fundraising efforts on mental health programs because of the current youth mental health crisis.
Red Ribbon Sponsors for the evening were Antwerpen Toyota, Baltimore Ravens, Nick and Louise Cortezi, Grander Capital Partners and University of Maryland Medical System. The Presenting Sponsor was an anonymous donor.
