Managing Partner, Leffler, Bayoumi

Lauren N. Leffler serves as Managing Partner of Leffler, Bayoumi & Oliver LLC, a boutique law firm she leads with partner Gauri Bayoumi. The firm specializes in guiding families and individuals through family law and trusts and estates matters.

Leffler’s family law practice encompasses counsel for marriage, separation and divorce proceedings. She represents clients in custody, child support, alimony and modification cases. The court appoints her as child’s counsel in contested matters, and she serves as a parent coordinator helping families improve communication and develop co-parenting strategies. Leffler also provides mediation services for dispute resolution.

What’s the most important thing you do in your job?

The most important part of my work is guiding families through moments of profound transition with both legal precision and empathy. Whether helping a client prepare for divorce, advocating as child’s counsel, serving as a mediator, or litigating in court, my role is to provide clarity and protection while helping families move toward resolution, stability, and a healthier path forward.

What qualities do you need to be a successful family law practitioner?

Success in family law requires a unique blend of qualities: empathy to understand clients’ struggles, resilience to navigate conflict, and decisiveness to advocate effectively. Strong communication and negotiation skills are critical, as is the creativity to craft solutions tailored to each family. Above all, a practitioner must balance compassion with a steadfast focus on achieving fair, practical, and lasting outcomes.

Outside of your legal practice, what activities or interests are you passionate about?

Outside of practicing law, I am passionate about creative and restorative pursuits that bring balance and perspective to my life. Painting, travel, and yoga allow me to recharge and approach my work with renewed clarity. Most importantly, I cherish time with my husband, daughter, and stepchildren.
My family is both my grounding and inspiration, and the lessons I learn in my own life deeply inform the compassion I bring to my work.
