A new year means new business happenings across the Lower Shore of Maryland.

Here’s a look at what’s new in the business world at the start of 2026.

Coconut Bay Trading Company

18 Williams St.

A beloved Berlin business has closed. After 15 years, the owners of Coconut Bay Trading Company — Leslie and Wes — have retired. The , located at 18 Williams St., celebrated its final day on Dec. 31, 2025.

The antique store, unique to Berlin’s downtown business scene, offered patrons a wide selection of treasures including jewelry, artwork, religious statues and more. The store first opened to the public in 2011.

Homestead Sourdough

107 Tall Timber Lane

A sourdough bread stand is now open for business at 107 Tall Timber Lane in Fruitland. Homestead Sourdough, a self-serve bread and juice stand, is stocked full of homemade sourdough and even more fresh goods.

Other items available for purchase include farm fresh eggs, milk, and organic cold-pressed juices from The Juicing Gal. Homestead Sourdough will continue to work in collaboration with The Juicing Gal for future products.

LensCrafters

2630 N Blvd.

The Centre at Salisbury’s LensCrafters will be relocating to a brand-new location soon. The prescription eyewear retailer will be moving to 2630 N. Salisbury Blvd. at the Salisbury Plaza, a location formerly home to Mattress Warehouse.

LensCrafters is still open in its mall location. A grand opening date for its new Salisbury Plaza location has not yet been announced. LensCrafters currently operates 19 locations across Maryland, according to the retailer’s official website.

Moe’s Southwest Grill

109-B Hampshire Road

A call to SVN | Miller on Dec. 8, 2025, confirmed that the Moe’s Southwest Grill located at 109-B Hampshire Road near Salisbury’s Walmart Super Center has closed permanently. The Mexican chain first opened in Salisbury in 2015.

SVN | Miller said that the property was put on the market in mid-November 2025 and negotiations are ongoing for “something new that the Salisbury market hasn’t had before.” There are now only two Moe’s locations open in Maryland.
