Priority Partners Managed Care Organization of Johns Hopkins Health Plan
Dr. Nina F. Miles Everett serves as chief medical officer of Priority Partners Managed Care Organization of Johns Hopkins Health Plan, driven by a commitment to improving health care for underserved individuals and the communities. In that role, she established the Department of Clinical Initiatives, designed to develop and implement programs that measurably improve health outcomes. The department works collaboratively across the organization to advance initiatives that address health equity and population health. Among her contributions is a contract she negotiated to expand the doula benefit, increasing access to culturally responsive care and improving maternal outcomes for pregnant individuals and their families.
At Aetna Better Health, Everett launched a mentoring program focused on personal growth and career advancement. Running for two years, the program included monthly sessions led by Everett, senior corporate leaders and external speakers. She personally funded books on leadership, personal development and career growth for participants and provided refreshments. At a Medicaid meeting years later, a former participant paused the meeting to share publicly that Everett’s encouragement and persistent push had led her to enroll in and complete her Bachelor of Science degree, an achievement that was followed by a promotion.
The founder of SisterCircle, Everett has led the book club through 30 years of sisterhood, learning and service. Convening each month, the group reads from a wide and diverse range of authors and topics, with discussions that are thoughtful, dynamic and transformative.
