The League for People with Disabilities

Renée Dash serves as chief operating officer of The League for People with Disabilities, where she leads teams supporting thousands of Marylanders with intellectual, developmental and acquired disabilities. Through her leadership, she has strengthened the systems and services that help individuals gain independence, increase self-sufficiency and improve quality of life — often serving as their only advocates in the process.
Alongside her executive responsibilities, Dash returned to law school, earning her law degree while continuing to serve in her COO role. The pursuit required discipline, sacrifice and conviction, and her work as an attorney has elevated her ability to ensure individuals with disabilities and other vulnerable children and adults receive fair treatment, access and opportunity.
Beyond her organizational leadership, Dash is a committed mentor to high school students across the area, regularly participating in mentorship programs that help young people prepare for college, the workforce and the transition to adulthood. Her preferred engagement is conducting mock interviews, offering students a safe space to practice, build confidence and refine the skills that open doors to future success. Whether working with youth in schools or emerging professionals within her organization, she provides candid coaching, accountability and consistent encouragement — guided by a desire to be the kind of advocate and guide she needed as a young woman.
