Abrams, Foster, Nole & Williams, P.A.
Arnold Williams, CPA, serves as managing director of Abrams, Foster, Nole & Williams, P.A., where he oversees the overall management of the accounting practice with an emphasis on firm development and leads the Accounting and Consulting Services Division. For many years, he has provided extensive services to businesses across Baltimore, Washington, Virginia and Pennsylvania, earning recognition as a professional whose advisory and accounting work is distinguished by a personal touch and a sensitivity to client concerns and needs.
His path into the profession began at Baltimore City College High School, where bookkeeping classes first sparked his curiosity. That interest deepened when he enrolled at what was then Baltimore Junior College, now Baltimore City Community College, where he earned an associate degree in accounting. He later completed a Bachelor of Science in accounting at the University of Baltimore. Even as a high school student, Williams had set his sights on becoming a CPA, drawn to the goal of holding a credential beyond bookkeeping long before he fully understood the depth of the profession.
What inspires him is the work of serving as a trusted adviser to a community of first- and second-generation wealth, as well as to businesses, nonprofit organizations and faith-based institutions. Throughout his career, he points to James McLean, former president and CEO of Four Seas Seven Winds Travel, as the person who has inspired him most.
That spirit of service extends well beyond his firm. Williams is the immediate past chairman of the Baltimore Development Corporation and currently serves as chairman of both the Maryland Health and Higher Education Facilities Authority and the Neighborhood Impact Investment Fund. He sits on the boards of Qlarant, Inc., the Baltimore City Board of Finance and the Greater Baltimore Committee.
His earlier civic service spans leadership roles with organizations including United Way of Central Maryland, Associated Black Charities, the Boy Scouts of America, Bon Secours Baltimore Hospital Corporation and the Maryland State Board of Public Accountancy. He holds memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Black Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy.
