Stephany Yu
Sunwater Capital
Founder and General Partner Stephany Yu leads Sunwater Capital, a North Bethesda-based investment firm focused on real estate, healthcare and data across U.S. and overseas markets. With over 18 years of experience in real estate development and investment, she has led the creation of more than 36 million square feet of residential, commercial and retail property across both markets.
Yu is also the founder and chairman of Greencourt Group, a Shanghai-based real estate company that was an early pioneer in the development of Shanghai’s suburban area.
Beyond her investment work, Yu is passionate about entrepreneurship, innovation and societal impact. She founded and chairs the Yuan Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports education, culture and community development for the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in Maryland. She also serves as chairman of the International Leadership Foundation Entrepreneurship & Innovation Committee, which fosters leadership and entrepreneurship among young AAPI professionals.
In academia, Yu is a board member and visiting professor at Fudan University’s School of Economics and serves as co-CEO of its alumni association. She holds a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in economics, both from Fudan University.
