No ethics conflict, state says

Isabel FitzGerald, the secretary of the Maryland Department of Information Technology, was drafted late last year to take over IT operations at the foundering state health exchange. She played a key role in selecting Deloitte Consulting LLP as the state’s new contractor to redo the exchange’s dysfunctional website. She also happens to be married to Paul FitzGerald, who is a principal at Deloitte.
