Piece of World Trade Center welcomed to Baltimore in November

On November 23, 2010, Gov. Martin O'Malley, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, police officers, firefighters and members of the Maryland 9/11 Memorial Advisory Committee welcomed a piece of the World Trade Center to Baltimore. Plans to make that piece into a memorial to sit in front of Baltimore's World Trade Center are to be revealed Wednesday afternoon.

The Daily Record honors Maryland’s Top 100 Women

On Monday, May 9, 2011, The Daily Record held its 16th annual Top 100 Women awards ceremony at the Meyerhoff Theater in Baltimore. Since its inception, the event has honored nearly 1,000 women in Maryland for their leadership and contributions. Twenty-three women were also added to the Circle of Excellence this year, which means they have been honored three times as a Top 100 Woman.
