Bethesda Game Studios
In the world of 3D video games, Bethesda Game Studios Game Director and Executive Producer Todd Howard is a rock star.
Howard, who also been a video game creative director, designer and executive producer, has worked at Bethesda for 22 years. He’s left his mark on many of the industry’s favorite games, including the “Fallout” and “Elder Scrolls” series, and he was an early pioneer of 3D worlds.
He is one of the few game designers to develop three Game of the Year titles under the Elder Scrolls brand in the company’s “Oblivion,” “Fallout,” and “Skyrim” offerings.
He recently told an audience at the Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain 2016 summit in Las Vegas that Bethesda Game Studios is working on “three longer-form projects that are a bit different, but still fit into the studio’s portfolio of ‘big and crazy’” titles, according to Game Informer.
Bethesda released its first mobile game, Fallout Shelter — a continuation of the studio’s blockbuster series in June 2015, according to The Washington Post.
“I get to work with some amazing people who inspire me every day,” Howard told the Associated Press after winning the Game of the Year prize at the 19th Annual D.I.C.E. awards ceremony in February. The spin-off “Fallout Shelter” app took home mobile game of the year.
He is to receive a lifetime achievement award at the 16th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards, a peer-based awards ceremony on March 16 in San Francisco.
