Up Do’s for I Do’s

The work is exciting – Ashley Riddle, founder of Up Do’s For I Do’s in Linthicum Heights, and her team of stylists travel to weddings, bachelorette parties, girls’ nights out, weddings, charity events and birthday parties to style hair and make brides and others look their best.

For every satisfied customer is a lot of behind-the-scenes effort. Riddle and her team complete training and must work to stay on top of the latest in wedding trends and beauty techniques. The team also meets regularly to exchange ideas.

The end result is that “I present our artists with the opportunity to expand their repertoire,” Riddle said.

Riddle became a certified cosmetologist through the Delmarva Beauty Academy and went on to earn an associate’s degree from Anne Arundel Community College. She honed her skills at Bad Hair Day? and other salons, but knew she wanted to go into business herself.

Riddle is a member of the Emerging Companies Roundtable, Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship and Howard Tech Council. Riddle also has developed an internship for local college students to earn credits and gain some marketing experience with her business.

As for her, she would like to see her business continue to grow.

“The ability to envision possibilities, strategically plan to attain the desired outcome, and view obstacles as a stepping stones have put me on the path to where I am today,” Riddle said.
