Tina C. Williams
Tina C. Williams is an entrepreneur and lawyer who started her career as a software developer for Lockheed Martin and is now the president of her own cybersecurity firm, the Silver Spring-based TCecure.
It’s a “dream come true,” Williams said, admitting there has been “trial and error” as she has built the company, which provides cyber protection and intelligence to public sector and commercial clients.
Williams was a Meyerhoff Scholar and University Scholar at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. She earned a master’s degree in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
She started her career at Lockheed Martin, but knew that she eventually would start her own firm. Her position as a successful woman with her own STEM startup has given her the opportunity to promote STEM careers to under-served students through camps and other learning events, she said.
“Also at TCecure, we are planning the development of a gaming app – pending grant funding – to teach kids about risk management and cyber security,” she said.
Williams is an adjunct instructor for UMBC’s Master’s of Professional Studies in Cybersecurity and a member of the NICE365 Industry Advisory Board of Directors.
