Senior Policy Advocate
Job Opportunities Task Force
Caryn Corinthia Maxine Aslan is widely recognized as one of the most knowledgeable and effective experts on re-entry policy in Maryland.
Aslan, a senior policy advocate at the Job Opportunities Task Force since 2011, leads local and state policy efforts to improve outcomes and conditions for low-wage workers in Maryland, particularly those with criminal records.
Aslan is the only African-American female lobbyist and advocate in Annapolis working to support such causes on a daily basis during the 90-day legislative session, she said.
“Raising awareness around the employment barriers that Maryland workers with a criminal background face is hard work,” she said.
Aslan also is a member of the Bridging the Gap Committee, which is part of the Greater Baltimore Committee, and a council member for the state-legislated Justice Reinvestment Council.
“My commitment to inspiring change is never giving up the fight for those who think that they have no voice,” she said.
