In 14 years working at the Baltimore Community Foundation, Dion Cartwright has granted more than $3 million in funds to improve the city and county and engaged more than 30,000 volunteers in improving Baltimore.

“Through my work at the Foundation, I’ve helped to support communities in Baltimore city and county to improve the quality of life for low income communities and communities of color who face countless disparities and disadvantages,” Cartwright said.

Cartwright also serves as an advisory board chair of the P.L.A.C.E.S. Fellowship. The Professionals Learning About Community Equity and Smart Growth fellowship is a program of The Funders Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities.

There, she acts as a thought leader and mentor to more than 80 national philanthropic leaders focused on equity through place-based philanthropy.

“My love for people and my belief in the greater good is what allows me to inspire change and motivates me to continue on even when there are great obstacles,” she said.
