Frederick County Democratic State Central Committee

Jamie Shopland set out to take a job in IT project management, but found her passion was in politics and government.

She started working on a local ballot campaign while volunteering on the 2012 presidential campaign. That year, she was hired to work on President Barack Obama’s campaign in Maryland as the deputy data director.

Shopland most recently worked as a legislative analyst for the Frederick County Council.

She also is a past president of the Young Democrats of Frederick County and a committee member to the board of directors of Emerge Maryland.

Shopland is also an elected official on the Frederick County Democratic State Central Committee.

“Although it took 12 years for completion, I can proudly say that my most significant professional accomplishment is becoming the first in my immediate family to achieve a bachelor’s degree,” Shopland said. “Through this perseverance, I learned that I can accomplish any goal I set my mind to achieve.”
