Nicole Michelle Brown’s career at the Social Security Administration began while she was a senior at Morgan State University.

Now, as lead information technology specialist for the agency, she manages employees who are responsible for installing and maintaining the WebSphere Infrastructure.

Brown also helped organize the “Rules of Engagement” summit for young men, teaching them how to respond when interacting with law enforcement. Following the April riots in Baltimore, Brown worked with to help students learn how to advocate for themselves and become leaders.

In May she was part of a committee of women who hosted a policy forum at Baltimore City Hall to address critical issues and help bridge the gap between Baltimore City residents and the City Council.

“I am an activist,” Brown said. “I’m always working to improve the lives of others, young and old, through my efforts and educational communications with my community.”
