Tiara Booker-Dwyer began her career in the field of neuroscience before transitioning to the education sector.

She currently serves as an Education Program Specialist for the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), where she provides leadership to local school systems and postsecondary institutions in the implementation of career and technology education programs.

She was part of the leadership team that developed the state’s K-12 STEM standards and trained hundreds of educators on effective practices in STEM that are being used in schools today. Prior to joining MSDE, she worked on several STEM initiatives as a program director for the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education.

Education is always at the forefront for Booker-Dwyer. She says, “Students must have access to high quality education that will equip them with the skills and knowledge to prepare for careers, overcome obstacles, and make informed decisions.”
