Mehmet Yavuz Corapcioglu v. Sharon Roosevelt

Custody: Parenting coordinator: Consent of the parties
CSA No. 1459, Sept. Term 2013. Unreported.
Opinion by Eyler, D.S., J. Filed July 16, 2014.
Appeal from Montgomery County. Affirmed.
RecordFax #14-0716-15, 22 pages.

Regardless of the parties’ 2009 consent order, since 2011 the court can appoint a post-judgment parenting coordinator in Maryland only if the parties consent, and in this case, the mother did not consent; in any event, a court-appointed parenting coordinator is expressly barred from making “parenting decisions” and, thus, would not have had the authority to resolve the dispute that triggered father’s request.
