Several family-law mavens and domestic-violence prosecutors were on the list of judicial appointments Gov. Martin O’Malley made in the waning days of 2014 — and, of course, his second and final term. Among the 10 appointees:
- Del. Cathleen Marie Vitale, of Severna Park, now heading to Anne Arundel County Circuit Court;
- Master Mary Morton Kramer, appointed to the Howard County Circuit Court after a decade of hearing family-law and CINA cases (not to mention her time in practice before that);
- Judge Karla Natasha Smith, a former Family Violence Division prosecutor, who will be elevated from the District Court to Montgomery County Circuit Court; and
- Glenn Louis Klavans, a private practioner and former domestic violence prosecutor.
