{"id":4992,"date":"2015-07-15T13:26:34","date_gmt":"2015-07-15T17:26:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedailyrecord.com\/maryland-family-law\/?p=4992"},"modified":"2015-07-15T13:26:34","modified_gmt":"2015-07-15T17:26:34","slug":"2-new-jersey-child-protection-caseworkers-attacked-on-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedailyrecord.com\/maryland-family-law\/2015\/07\/15\/2-new-jersey-child-protection-caseworkers-attacked-on-job\/","title":{"rendered":"2 New Jersey child protection caseworkers attacked on job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TRENTON, N.J. \u00a0\u2014 Officials say two New Jersey child protection caseworkers were attacked and injured while removing a child from a suspected abusive home.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/1Dg4XpH\">NJ Advance Media reports<\/a> the assault occurred Tuesday in Pennsville Township, Salem County as the two staff members were taking the child into state&#8217;s custody.<\/p>\n<p>Children and Families Commissioner Allison Blake says her department was told the assailant is being held in police custody.<\/p>\n<p>Blake says both caseworkers, who were not identified, were released from the hospital after being treated for undisclosed injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Human Services Police Department, who assisted child welfare employees in dangerous neighborhoods, were recently re-assigned to be dispatched in the event caseworkers needed back-up.<\/p>\n<p>Officials say the injured caseworkers did not request an officer to accompany them into the home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TRENTON, N.J. \u00a0\u2014 Officials say two New Jersey child protection caseworkers were attacked and injured while removing a child from a suspected abusive home.
