Grandfather receives suspended sentence in girl’s car seat death

A Baltimore man received Friday a suspended sentence and probation in the accidental death of his 18-month-old granddaughter, who he left in her car seat on a hot summer day two years ago. Anthony Towles entered an Alford plea on his involuntary manslaughter charge, which carried a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
