Lawsuit over gun range ear muffs ends quietly

A Hyattsville woman has withdrawn her lawsuit against a Rockville shooting range that she claims caused her permanent hearing loss. Saleena R. Gilliard alleged Gilbert Indoor Shooting Range did not properly instruct her how to wear her protective ear muffs and as a result will "likely require hearing aids for the duration of her life," according to her complaint.

Montgomery Co. jury finds orthopedic practice not liable for ‘wrist drop’

A Montgomery County jury has found in favor of a Kensington orthopedic practice sued by a former patient who alleged he lost use of his left arm following surgery almost four years ago. After $21.7M verdict, Pepco reaches settlement with paralyzed contractor (access required)

Pepco has reached a settlement with a former contractor originally awarded nearly $36 million from a Montgomery County jury after was electrocuted and paralyzed from the neck down in a workplace accident. The jury verdict in favor of Hugo Hernandez Palomino came in October following a six-day jury trial in Montgomery County Circuit Court. The jury award included approximately $19 million for future medical expenses and $15 million for noneconomic damages, which would have been capped at $770,000.
