Pride of Baltimore II ready to embark on 5-month voyage
The Pride of Baltimore II will be setting sail on a five-month voyage to ports along the East Coast, Great Lakes and in Canada. During the voyage, the ship will promote Maryland’s contributions to the War of 1812 and the writing of the Star-Spangled Banner during the 1814 Battle of Baltimore at Fort McHenry.
Piece of World Trade Center welcomed to Baltimore in November
On November 23, 2010, Gov. Martin O'Malley, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, police officers, firefighters and members of the Maryland 9/11 Memorial Advisory Committee welcomed a piece of the World Trade Center to Baltimore. Plans to make that piece into a memorial to sit in front of Baltimore's World Trade Center are to be revealed Wednesday afternoon.
Fort McHenry celebrates new visitors center 1812-style
The new 17,655 square-foot state-of-the-art visitors center at Fort McHenry opened to visitors on Thursday, March 3, 2011, the 80th anniversary of the adoption of The Star-Spangled Banner as the American national anthem.

O’Malley, Rawlings-Blake welcome piece of World Trade Center to Baltimore
Gov. Martin O'Malley, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, firefighters, police and members of the Maryland 9/11 Memorial Advisory Committee met Tuesday to welcome a piece of the World Trade Center to Baltimore. The 4,000 pound piece will soon be made into a memorial honoring those who died in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
