Unbillable hours: Capturing the mission of local nonprofits

From education and the environment to public health and the arts, nonprofits have a hand in almost every segment of the local community. It’s no surprise, then, that they share a common goal: getting the word out about their mission in a way that excites potential volunteers and donors. But many of those nonprofits find themselves in a conundrum, as they can’t afford to spend funds on professional marketing or photography services. Baltimore-based nonprofit BeMore Photography aimed to address this problem when it launched about three years ago, said William Dunn, co-president of the organization and a Baltimore City Circuit Court magistrate.
