As a woman who changed careers from mentoring students in education to mentoring adults in business, Ellie Giles has kept her feet in both disciplines. She created and has led the Rx for Employability project, which brings together industry, community agencies and training organizations to enhance the career pathways for more than 500 Montgomery County residents.
She had 32-year career in special. In 2002, she was named national teacher of the year by the Council for Learning Disabilities.
