Frederick County Circuit Court
Hon. Theresa Adams was appointed a judge to the Frederick County Circuit Court in 2004, after spending 14 years working in the state’s attorney’s office. She presides over child welfare cases, and as member of the Foster Care Court Improvement Committee, worked to gain support for legislation that prevents severely abused children from being returned to potentially dangerous homes.
She is a past president of the Bar Association of Frederick County and introduced a civics and law program to county high school students.
Maryland is my home. My connections to this state are deep and longstanding. I grew up and raised my own children in Frederick County and was one of the first female students to reside on Mount St. Mary’s campus. From my time as prosecutor, private-practice attorney, and now judge, I have embraced – and been embraced by – the state of Maryland.
