Man Alive and Lane Treatment Center

Karen Reese, executive director of Man Alive and Lane Treatment Center, has devoted four decades of her life to improving the treatment of opioid-addicted individuals.

Founded in 1967, Man Alive is the first medication-assisted treatment facility in Maryland and the second-oldest in the country. Reese launched Lane Treatment Center to offer a variety of counseling and behavioral services.

She is president of Recycled Love Rescue Group and helped rescue three of the dogs confiscated from the Michael Vick dog-fighting operation.
