Why Maryland?
Through my journeys, I see firsthand, from my drive to work and school through Baltimore to my home in Anne Arundel County, the contrasts of wealth and poverty. Maryland is the wealthiest state in the country. Yet, in the midst of this wealth, 1 in 10 adults and 1 in eight children live in poverty. As I got older, I found myself wanting to connect these “two Marylands” through work, service and philanthropy as best as I can with the resources I have been given. I hope I have made an impact and I hope that I will continue to do so. This is the path I feel drawn to follow.
