Since 1995, Rev. Lettie Moses Carr has served as the administrative chaplain for the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women, overseeing religious services for 800 incarcerated women, tending to 14 different faith groups and leading the women in bible studies, dance ministry, banner ministry, choir and more.

As a first generation college student, Carr attended Smith College and later law school. She has received public safety employee of the year recognition as well chaplain of the year honors from various faith groups.
