CINA: Award of custody to DSS: Subsequent placement
CSA No. 2587, Sept. Term 2013. Unreported.
Opinion by Hotten, J. Filed July 22, 2014.
Appeal from Cecil County. Affirmed.
RecordFax #14-0722-08, 18 pages.
The juvenile court’s CINA determination was supported by corroborated evidence of abuse and neglect, and the award of custody to DSS, rather than to the boy’s grandparents, was supported by evidence that the grandparents had violated the child’s safety plan; finally, having awarded custody to DSS, the court’s statement that DSS would determine where to place the boy was not an improper delegation of authority but an accurate statement of law.
