Estates & Trusts: Guardianship commissions: Unusual circumstances
CSA No. 2594, Sept. Term 2012. Unreported. Opinion by Wright, J. Filed January 3, 2014. Appeal from Caroline County. Affirmed.
Losses incurred by the ward’s manufacturing business did not constitute “unusual circumstances” sufficient to deny the guardian her statutory commissions, where the evidence showed the guardian succeeded in her overall performance, including attending to the ward’s healthcare needs and his farming operations, and using good faith efforts to run the business under the ward’s direction.
