What is the biggest challenge facing your industry today?

The single biggest challenge facing Maryland’s community colleges today is long‑term financial stability tied to enrollment volatility, especially as state funding is closely linked to enrollment through the Cade Funding Formula. This challenge then cascades into staffing, student support, and program capacity issues.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Stay grounded in purpose, focus on what matters most, lead through service, never compromise your integrity, rely on community and don’t hesitate to seek support.

How do you define success?

Success is helping students succeed, strengthening the community and leading collaboratively with integrity.
