Alstom, of Haut de Seine, France, a worldwide provider of boilers, generators and turbines, said it has signed a contract valued at approximately $100 million with Virginia-based Old Dominion Electric Cooperative to supply steam-driven electricity generating equipment for the Wildcat Point power plant that ODEC plans to build near Rising Sun in Cecil County.

The package of equipment will provide Wildcat Point with all of its steam function needs, and is designed to work with the gas components at the plant.

Plans call for the plant to be built adjacent to ODEC’s existing Rock Springs facility, and to go online in 2017.
