The Daily Record of Maryland is seeking a reporter to cover the business of law. The business of law, encompassing legal education, is one of the paper’s essential beats. It involves trends in legal practice and issues facing firms of all sizes, from solo practitioners to large offices with a national reach, as well as trends in legal education at a time of significant change in the marketplace. The beat also entails some coverage of civil and criminal litigation, particularly as it pertains to cases with important social and legal implications.

Past reporting on legal issues and a background in the law are pluses. Familiarity with mobile journalism, the use of databases and social media also is important. Candidates should love to break news online and to expand and polish those stories for print.

The Daily Record, based in downtown Baltimore, has covered the business and legal affairs of Maryland for more than 131 years. Sales Coordinator

Bridgetower Media is seeking a Sales Coordinator who would work with our media operations in Maryland and Central and Eastern PA providing sales, event, public notice and marketing support. These organizations include: The Maryland Daily Record, Central Penn Business Journal, Lehigh Valley Business and Central Penn Parent.

The ideal candidate would have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage various products and deadlines simultaneously. This role will work closely with sales, special products and events. Strong research, database management, Excel, Word and Power Point skills are required along with the ability to learn order entry and website systems to achieve the objectives of the position.

We are a fast paced environment where the ability to multitask successfully is a must. The role will provide customer service and support for public notice clients and collaborate with our design and public notice hub to ensure ads run correctly and to create promotional pieces and marketing pieces as necessary.

You must be comfortable with cold calling advertisers, event honorees and attendees to follow up on missing information, answer questions and provide excellent customer service.

A college degree is preferred, along with 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience.
