Five new retailers signed leases with St. John Properties Inc., cumulatively totaling nearly 14,000 square feet of space at Greenleigh, a 1,000-acre mixed-use business community in Middle River.
Situated off Interstate 95 and MD Route 43 in eastern Baltimore County, Greenleigh will include more than 3,300 residential units including single-family homes, townhomes, and luxury apartments, along with nearly 2 million square feet of commercial space upon completion. Bill Holzman of St. John Properties represented the landlord in all five lease transactions.
Bajeko Sekuwa Restaurant currently has three locations in the United States, a concept that offers Indian and Nepalese cuisine. The restaurant signed a lease for 4,266 square feet of space at 710 Concourse Drive. Kris Ghimire of Ghimire Homes represented the tenant.
Greenleigh represents the second Bubbakoo’s Burritos franchise joining the St. John Properties’ portfolio, with the first recently opening at Liberty Exchange business community in Eldersburg.
The quick-service restaurant, which has more than 100 stores in 15 states, specializes in made-to-order Mexican Fusion dishes such as burritos, quesadillas, tacos and bowls. Bubbakoo’s Burritos will be located within 1,726 square feet of space at 710 Concourse Drive.
Cellfix Plus, which signed a lease for 1,352 square feet of space within 710 Concourse Drive, specializes in the repair and refurbishment of electronic and wireless devices with a focus on cellphones. The Greenleigh location represents owner Rejaul Tarkek’s second Cellfix Plus store, joining an existing site in New Jersey.
Kelly Backert owns a bootcamp and cycle studio in Bel Air along with Barre studios in Belair and Perry Hall, Greenleigh will mark her third local Barre studio. The concept offers a low-impact workout combining elements of ballet, Pilates, Yoga, and strength training, specifically targeting the female demographic.
Uptown Cheapskate, a national franchise which brands itself as a fashion exchange targeting the 13- to 35-year-old demographic, has leased a 5,256 square feet store at 11521 Wakefield St. Uptown Cheapskate accepts only freshly-laundered, gently-worn, men’s and women’s fashions – such as shirts, dresses, denim, jackets, shirts, handbags and accessories – that can be quickly resold to customers interested in the latest clothing styles. Erik Ulsaker and Christina Cha represented the tenant in this transaction.
St. John Properties, together with partner Somerset Construction Company, initiated development activities on Greenleigh in 2007, a business community that includes multiple real estate classes including multifamily. Greenleigh reflects a “New Urbanism” concept, with approximately 500 acres carved out for a range of housing options, mid-rise commercial office buildings and complementary retail and hospitality amenities.
