BGE: Power restored to most customers after storm

Baltimore Gas and Electric says service has been restored to most of the 37,000 customers who lost power following heavy thunderstorms.

The utility says about 1,240 were still without power at about noon Friday. It says it expects to restore power to those customers by the afternoon.

Meanwhile, forecasters say more rain and high winds could be on the way

The National Weather Service says more thunderstorms and high winds were expected Friday afternoon and evening in the Baltimore-Washington region. BGE says the storms could cause more outages.

The utility serves about 1.2 million electric customers in central Maryland.
