Three join STX

Matt Hoppe, Rocco Amonte and Sam Lacey have joined STX.

Hoppe joins STX at senior global brand manager, responsible for providing management for all aspects of the ice hockey brand. Hoppe has worked in sports marketing and brand management positions for the past nine years.

Most recently, Hoppe worked at Cycling Sports Group as director of marketing for Cannondale, GT and Schwinn. Previously, Hoppe worked at Nike Bauer Hockey where he was promoted from Sports Marketing Coordinator to Global Brand Manager during his seven years there.

Hoppe also played ice hockey for the highly regarded United State Hockey League before playing at the University of New Hampshire.

Amonte joins STX as Ice Hockey Pro Service Manager, bringing more than 16 years of ice hockey sports marketing expertise. He is primarily responsible for managing relationships with NHL pro-athletes.

Before joining STX, Amonte was a pro athlete services representative with Reebok and worked directly with NHL athletes. Previously, Amonte was an equipment manager for the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks, formerly a minor professional hockey team in the ECHL.

Amonte has a deep background in ice hockey, including playing two years at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Lacey joins STX as composite materials engineer at STX. Lacey brings an extensive background in sporting equipment development and design to STX. Previously, Lacey designed golf equipment at Cleveland Golf and most recently designed ski and climbing gear at Black Diamond Equipment.

At STX, Lacey will manage the research and development for the ice hockey brand including development and design, testing and working with vendors to evaluate products.

Lacey received his bachelor’s degree in material science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and his masters in mechanical engineering from Cornell University.
