The mayor of Baltimore will travel to Qatar and Cuba in the coming months as part of her role as president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

The Baltimore Sun reports that Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will travel to the countries to discuss economic development, governance, service delivery and arts and culture.

Rawlings-Blake will first travel to Qatar from April 12 to 17. Howard Libit, the mayor’s spokesman, says she will be pursuing economic development opportunities in Baltimore with Qataris.

Her next trip will be to Cuba from May 23 to 29. The U.S. Conference of Mayors, which is paying for the trip, will be meeting with the Center for Democracy in the Americas and the government of Cuba during the trip.
