Rotunda Capital Partners acquires Minnesota educational tech firm

A Bethesda private equity firm has acquired a majority interest in a provider of student computing solutions, warranty services, and enterprise products for the K-12 education market.

announced it bought the interest in Trinity3 Technology of St. Paul, Minnesota. Terms of the transaction, which closed Nov. 15, were not disclosed.

The management team at Trinity3 will retain a significant equity interest. CEO Gary Embretson will remain in charge.

John Fruehwirth, partner at Rotunda Capital Partners, said in a news release that there are strong industry trends in student computing, and that Trinity3’s distribution and warranty model are a natural fit with Rotunda’s specialty finance and distribution experience.
