This appeal arises out of a medical malpractice action filed by George Gore, Jr., appellant, against Calvert Memorial Hospital of Calvert County, appellee. As required by the Maryland Health Care Malpractice Claims Act, Md. Code, Courts & Judicial Proceedings (“CJ”) §§ 3-2A-01 et seq. (the “Act”), appellant initiated this case by filing a statement of claim with the Health Care Alternative Dispute Resolution Office (“HCADRO”). In his statement of claim, appellant asserted that he suffered injuries as a result of appellee’s employees “negligently drop[ping]” appellant into a chair during the course of his recovery from back surgery.
