Representatives from Montgomery County, nonprofit organizations and Kaiser Permanente gathered for a socially-distant celebration of a $15,000 donation made by Kaiser Permanente to the Rainbow Community Development Center (Rainbow CDC).

The contribution supports the nonprofit Rainbow CDC’s efforts to address food insecurity in Montgomery County through a robust food pantry and food distribution service for those in need. With the additional funds, Rainbow CDC is able to purchase a commercial-grade refrigerator and additional storage to expand the organization’s food storage capacity.

This donation is an extension of a long-standing partnership between Kaiser Permanente and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation to support student wellness initiatives through Montgomery County Public Schools. When grant-funded school programming was canceled due to the pandemic, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation helped Kaiser Permanente pivot their donation to the Rainbow CDC to support the pressing and growing need to fight hunger in our community.
